Highlands, TX Restaurants — Hungry Jack’s Is 15 Minutes North
Highlands sits close enough to Crosby that Hungry Jack’s is a genuine local option rather than an expedition — fifteen minutes up FM 2100. What you get at the end of it is a family-run kitchen that makes its gravy, batters and breading from scratch every morning, serves breakfast all day, and keeps going with burgers and plates until 8pm. 4.7 stars across 2,759+ Google reviews.
Getting here from Highlands
Head north on FM 2100 and stay on it — roughly 15 minutes to 14045 FM 2100 Ste 120 in Crosby. One road, easy access, ample parking. If you’re coming up from the San Jacinto River side, FM 2100 is still the road you want.
What Highlands regulars order
- Classic breakfasts — eggs, meat, potatoes, biscuits, done properly and in quantity. The plate that makes people stop comparing us to chains.
- Country Fried Steak — hand-breaded, gravy made here, and the dish most often described in our reviews.
- Crepes & dessert — the part of the menu most first-timers don’t expect, and the reason a few Highlands regulars come specifically in the afternoon.

We’re open well past breakfast
Fifteen minutes is close enough that we should be a weeknight option too, so: burgers, tacos, lunch and dinner plates, kids menu, dessert — served until 8pm, seven days a week, with all-day breakfast running alongside. Not a breakfast place that closes at eleven.
Quietest times to drop in
Open 6:00am–8:00pm daily. Weekday mornings and afternoons are quiet — from Highlands you can be seated in the time it takes most people to park. Weekend mid-mornings, 9:00 to 11:30, are our busiest; join the Google Maps waitlist before you drive up.
Close enough to be a habit
Fifteen minutes puts us in a useful category: near enough for a weekday breakfast before work, near enough that takeout is still hot when you get it home, and near enough that you don’t need an occasion. A fair number of Highlands regulars come the same morning every week and order the same thing every time — which is, in the end, the highest compliment a breakfast place gets.
